3. James

James is a Mixed Farm Hand who you can put in any situation, safe in the knowledge that he has the skills and knowledge to deal with it. This man has a wide range of experience across cattle and sheep grazing, broadacre cropping and machinery operation. James’ referees include his last two employers, who have given comprehensive references and recommendations on his behalf. Amongst other things, they have said the following:-

“For the right person, he will bend over backwards for you.”

“James is unbelievable with his mechanical knowledge.”

“James is very placid, has a good sense of humour and is pretty independent.”

“He can put something in the workshop, work on it, and it will be all good to go tomorrow.”

As a Machinery Operator, James has his bulldozer, excavator and loader tickets. He has clocked up many hours working in the timber industry, clearing fence lines, maintaining roads, making tank pads, and laying water pipes. Due to spending so much time on such machines, James is a very competent Bush Mechanic. He is confident that he can get most heavy machinery going again, including being a dab hand with the welder. He has done end assemblies, drawbars, gates, and general farm and machinery repairs.

Since 2017, James has had several long-term roles on sheep and cattle stations, increasing his skill set to include station maintenance like fencing, water pumps, infrastructure, and stock work. Competent across all aspects of sheep and cattle husbandry, James can bring work dogs and horses if required. As part of his previous roles, James was involved in planting pastures, fodder and ground cover crops in dry-land and irrigated pasture systems.

As a family of six, James and his wife would like to move somewhere where they can raise their kids on the land while being close enough to a town with schools, sports and other services.
